Subject: Music Creators South Africa (MCSA] AGM
In light of the absence of a national music composers/song-writers' association since 2017, it has become clear that composers and song-writers have had no organised, national voice or representation to address their issues.
Members of the public and interested stakeholders are hereby advised of the creation of the Music Creators South Africa (MCSA), an association created to represent music copyright creators.
Music copyright creators/ composers are invited to apply for membership of the association prior to the inaugural AGM, the date of which will be published in due course.
Music Creators South Africa NPC 2020/910887/08, is a non-profit company that empowers music copyright creators with tools to lead effective, sustainable careers and businesses. The organisation further provides information and leadership on composers' rights within the South African legal framework.
MCSA encourages a culture of collaboration and seeks to ensure that careers in the creative industries are vibrant and secure sustainable livelihoods.
Our Focus Areas are the following:
Broaden the business intelligence of music copyright creators
Strengthen business networks for music copyright creators
Protecting the rights of South African music copyright creators
Create fairness and effective management of music copyright creators.
Inform members about the multifaceted and dynamic nature of the global music industry
"Music copyright creators are urged to take part in this inaugural AGM and make use of our registration process to become an official member of MCSA with voting rights at the inaugural AGM" says MCSA Chairperson Nomsa Mazwai.
